Caring Ministry

Caring Ministries are all about people.  In each of these ministry areas, we reach out and extend the church of Jesus Christ to people in our church and community.  From Homebound Communion to GriefShare, we endeavor to share the love of God with those who are hurting, those may be unable to attend church, and those who need to know how much they are loved by God and by their church family.

As the church, we are in community with people who have significant events which shape their lives.  Through ministries such as Prayer Shawl, DivorceCare and others, we reach out as the church and speak into the needs of people in all circumstances of their lives, the good and the bad, the joyful and the sorrowing.

There are many opportunities to share your God-given gifts of caring at First United Methodist Church.  If you would like more information as to how you can serve, please contact the Director of Pastoral Care, Vicki Standley at  vstandley@marionmethodist.org or call the church office at (319) 377-4856.
